Service Description

The artistic study of animal anatomy gives an art student a much deeper understanding of organic 3D form, relationship & movement and can offer rich detail to artistic compositions. This 6 week class taught by award winning illustrator & comic artist Scott Hanna, teaches you basic anatomy in the actual animal proportion, covering a new species each week and discussing the differences and similarities between the different animal forms. In class, you'll work with hand-outs from artistic anatomy text books, receive drawing demonstrations & lectures and study 3D sculptures and skeletal forms. Drawings will cover both skeletal and muscular structures. Students will keep a class sketchbook to practice their drawing & record their progress. Bring to first class: an 11"x17" or larger drawing sketch pad and a 4B drawing pencil.
