Intro Sewing 6wk class Wed Dec4-Jan22 (skips Dec25&Jan1) Learn to sew using home & industrial sewing machines, plan a great sewing project, select & prepare fabrics, and start to create wonderful garments or accessories. Students will learn a wide variety of skills, gain experience with a number of sewing tools, and discover the joy of creating original clothing! Come to the first class prepared to dive into fashion. You'll start with a look at commercial patterns and a tour of Pamela's fabric room to jump start your creativity. You'll take measurements to determine size & plan your first project so you can shop for your supplies during the following week. In later weeks, you will pin & cut your fit muslin or your original design. This class is a great choice for both beginners as well as intermediate sewers wishing for more experience with their design projects. (Intermediate sewers are not required to do beginner practice samples if their skill level is beyond that.) College Prep: Students preparing for college fashion design programs may use this class to become familiar with the skills needed to succeed in college. SEWING MACHINES ARE PROVIDED IN CLASS, however you may bring your own portable if you prefer. Bring to first class: All students should bring a notebook to first class. All sample fabrics for first class are provided by instructor. Students may bring a current or new sewing project, sewing supplies & tools.
